Seaside Oregon

Kids love Seaside, and if you are a kid at heart, you will too. There is a lot going on in this town for its size. Just take a stroll in downtown Seaside and you will see go carts, gift shops, river boat rentals, miniature-golf, galleries, bumper cars, the Seaside Aquarium, arcade, movie theater, and a number of terrific restaurants. If you walk westward you will find yourself on the Seaside Promenade, a two-mile walkway that stretches along the scenic Seaside Beach. Looking down on the beach you will find volleyball, swing sets, kites, sandcastles and more! If shopping is your pastime, you will love the Factory Outlet Center in Seaside, which has a number of popular name-brand stores.

There are two state parks near Seaside. To the North there is Del Rey State Park, which is a beautiful park that offers beach access for your automobile. This is a rare thing in Oregon, which makes this park very unique. You can find a perfect spot for your family picnic without carrying the basket; or just lay back and admire the Ocean from the comfort of your own vehicle, maybe with some cool tunes in the background.

To the South of Seaside is Ecola State Park. This is a well-known park that includes Indian Beach, and is a must see location on the Oregon Coast. The views from Ecola State Park rival that of any spot alSeaside ORong Oregon's Coast. Indian Beach tends not to have many visitors in comparison to the beaches of Seaside and Cannon Beach, so it is a perfect spot for an afternoon on the sand. There is also The Clatsop Loop Trail, which allows you to walk an interpretive trail in the footsteps of Captain Clark and his men. There is a fee for visiting this park so bring your George Washington's along for the ride!

The lodging options in this town are terrific. There are a number of Oceanfront and Oceanview properties that border the Promenade. There are also several terrific events that happen in Seaside including the Annual Beach Volleyball Tournament and the finish line to the Hood to Coast Relay. This city tends to book up fast in the summer months (especially the weekends of popular events) so make sure to plan ahead. Seaside offers a terrific family vacation of fun, food, and almost too much to do.
