Bandon Oregon, located on the mouth of the Coquille River, is an enjoyable spot on Oregon's Coast. Views of the river and ocean are abundant throughout much of Bandon, and it is no wonder that this is argued to be the most popular spot on the Southern Oregon Coast. You will be pleasantly surprised by the terrific lodging accommodations, restaurants, galleries, gift shops and tourist attractions.
Many in the golf world are already familiar with Bandon as it is host to a world-class course. The Bandon Dunes Golf Resort features 36 holes of golf with views that might make you miss a putt or two. Besides golf, you will want to visit Bullards Beach State Park, Coquille River Lighthouse and Old Town Bandon.
Bullards Beach State Park is one of the most terrific state parks on the Oregon Coast. It would be easy to write a page on this park alone. The park features the Coquille River Estuary and wildlife refuge. There are more than four miles of beachfront. You will find trails for hiking, biking or galloping on horseback. The park also lends itself to a nice afternoon picnic or fishing expedition. There are several campsites and RV hook-ups. Finally, what park is complete without it's own lighthouse?
You will find the Coquille River Lighthouse on the southwestern-most tip of Bullards Beach State Park. The lighthouse tends to have driftwood and debris scattered about during most of the year. This is an obvious result of the lighthouse's amazing location next to where the Pacific Ocean and Coquille River shake hands. You will want to give yourself some time to not only explore the lighthouse but also the nearby beaches and state park.
Bandon is a must stop city on the Southern Oregon Coast, and will not disappoint you if you are looking for miles of sandy beach.
